Cyberpunk 2077 has already hinted at the possibilities of an ultra-modern sprawling metropolis, but Blade Runner's retro-futuristic interpretation of 2019 is just crying out for further development. If anything, the bustling, overgrown cityscape of Los Angeles, complete with massive and oppressive advertising boards and crowded neon streets, would make for an enthralling playground ripe for exploration. Dick's seminal novel on which it was based seemingly only gaining more and more relevance as time goes on. What Blade Runner offers is expansive and deeply prescient lore, the themes of Scott's 1982 classic and Philip K. The tie-in game might have fallen by the wayside somewhat since its apotheosis in the mid-2000s, but there's still a huge market for games to expand or reimagine the lore of established cinematic classics, from Alien: Isolation to Predator: Hunting Grounds and Evil Dead: The Game. What the modern gaming landscape also indicates is that there is a clear receptiveness to remakes and adaptations of beloved or classic cinematic properties.
